What is a boiler safety valve and should there be one?
Boiler safety valve or pressure relief valve
The BGR GROUP team responsible for the after-sales service of ATLANTIC water heaters, based on many years of experience and direct contact with customers, has found that many people still do not know and do not understand how the safety valve works and what are the reasons why its installation is necessary and mandatory for all electric water heaters.
It turns out that in some cases the safety valve is seen as a small detail that annoyingly drips water onto the floor. There are cases in which the opening of the safety valve is plugged /so that water does not drip from it/ or is dismantled, thus the pressure that normally increases when heating the water in the boiler cannot be relieved /reduced/ in any way.
We would like to make some clarifications regarding the operation of the safety valve without claiming to be completely comprehensive.
